Multi-layered clean-film full adhesive layers form mats that effectively capture dirt and dust from foot-traffic and equipment wheels before they enter controlled environments. Each of the numbered layers of the mat peels off easily to reveal a new clean surface. Sticky mats significantly reduce traffic-borne contaminants, removing up to 95% of particles at the .30 micron range. An acrylic adhesive is used which does not support microbial growth. Sticky mats are comprised of 30 disposable layers. Mats are available in a variety of sizes and come packaged 4 to a case.

Each Mat is 1/8″ thick and has 30 layers. When one layer is saturated with debris, simply peel it off and discard, leaving a fresh layer of protection. Reduce maintenance and cleaning costs by greatly decreasing the amount of dirt contamination.

The Sticky Mat Has Many Uses both in Industry and in the Home

Highly regarded in many different industries such as microelectronics, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, commercial cleaning, food processing and even in the home, the disposable Sticky Mat is the best, most reliable way to keep floors debris free. Sticky mats clean debris from not just shoe soles, but many other items, even office cart wheels and the bottoms of chair legs, right before entering a sanitary area. Available in a wide variety of colors and sizes as well as two tackiness grades, the Sticky Mat offers the perfect alternative to a standard doormat or even the removal of shoes in keeping floors clean.

How Does the Sticky Mat work?

The Sticky Mat is made up of layers of tear-off polyethylene film sheets that are specially formulated in such a way that dirt and debris are attracted to the mat while the adhesive does not transfer to shoe soles, cart wheels, or anything else – this means that the Sticky Mat cleans without leaving any kind of residue. All Sticky Mats are non-drying, non-allergenic and non-odorous; the surface of each sheet remains smooth throughout the entire time of use and is not damaged by pressure or scraping. The treated, pressure-sensitive adhesion on the top of each polyethylene film sheet removes all contamination and each sheet simply peels back to reveal a clean sheet underneath. This makes it simple to maintain a clean Sticky Mat at all times without worrying about the need for messy fluid cleaners or the time required to scrub down an entrance area. The Sticky Mat can be quite convenient in clean zones and highly sanitized areas.

Installation and Application of the Sticky Mat

Although it is frequently used in the aerospace industry, the application and installation of the Sticky Mat is not rocket science. Each Sticky Mat comes with your choice of either a full sheet or two inch wide double sided adhesive film allowing for simple placement because the backing adheres directly to the floor. After installation, the clear protective film can be removed and the Sticky Mat is immediately ready for use. All Sticky Mats have a numbered system either on a corner pull tab or an uncoated edge to help you pull only one sheet at a time as well as keep track of how many sheets have been used.

Choosing the Right Sticky Mat for Your Industry or Home

The most important factor when choosing the right Sticky Mat is level of tackiness; this will depend upon what kinds of shoes, booties, and/or wheels will be using the Sticky Mat. All sticky mat retailers have charts and explanations that can help you to decide which level would be most appropriate. Another consideration is the size of the Sticky Mat; certainly this would depend mostly upon its planned location. There are generally eight different sizes of Sticky Mats to be had, but custom sizes are also available.

Sticky Mats for Clean Rooms

If you love your home but hate to clean then you should know about sticky mats. Sometimes keeping your house clean can be a very tough chore. Between pets, kids, and everyone else that is constantly running in and out of your home before you know it your house is a disaster area. Really it isn’t anything that anyone is doing on purpose as dirt and other outside debris is tracked in on the feet of both pets and people and even if you have a door mat, how many people actually use it?

With sticky mats there is no having to remember to wipe your feet off because the mat does all the work for you. Sticky mats are just like a regular door mat except that they are sticky on the top. The end result is a lot more grime and dirt being caught on the sticky mats and a lot less getting tracked throughout your home.

Because sticky mats come in different sizes and shapes you can literally put them anywhere you want to help keep your home tidy. Here are some perfect places to put sticky mats:

• Front Door: This is probably the most obvious choice as to where you will want to place a sticky mat as this is going to be the place that receives the most foot traffic. Placing a sticky mat both as your door mat and right inside the doorway of your home will help you keep your living room and other common area rooms dramatically cleaner.
• Back Door: Instead of trying to catch your dog ever time they run in from outside so that you can wipe their paws, use a sticky mat at the back door. This will keep the grime and other nasty stuff that the doggies can track in unknowingly outside where it belongs.
• Kitchen: Placing a sticky mat just inside the kitchen will help catch dirt on the way in and on the way out. This will keep any food that may be dropped on the kitchen floor in the kitchen and on the sticky mat instead of one your foot and then onto your carpet.
• Individual rooms: If you have a multiple bedroom home then place a sticky mat on the inside of each room’s doorway. This will help trap most of what ends up on the floor of the individual rooms on the sticky mat and keep all the rooms cleaner as a result.

Why kill yourself sweeping and mopping on a daily basis if you don’t have to? Sticky mats are a life saver and a floor and carpet saver as well. Because sticky mats will trap a big percentage of the dirt, grime, and gunk that usually makes its way into the various rooms of your home it will mean less cleaning for you. Just think, you may actually get to come home after a long day of work and simply relax; though if you have a family probably not too much, but at least you won’t have to do a whole bunch of cleaning.

Cleanrooms are exactly what they sound like they would be and are designed to be an area or room that is totally free of all types of contamination including dust, particles, and bacteria. Those who work in cleanrooms have to be some of the most careful and precise individuals around as cleanrooms are made for precision work, such as small electronic work and biomedical work. In order for the work to go the way it is intended, the cleanroom has to have perfect conditions at all times, including those who work inside.

If you have been wondering if a cleanroom job the job for you, here are some things to look at before you say yes or no:

• Are You Patient: Working in a cleanroom means having to do things at a much slower pace than normal. You have to be extremely careful that no dust or particles get kicked up while you are working and this may mean slowing down just a bit. In a cleanroom, being patient is a definite necessity.
• Can You Work in Adverse Conditions: When you work in a cleanroom you have to put up with all sort of things that a typical job will not entail. For example, you will have to wear a special suit that is designed to keep contaminants out of the air. You will also likely have to wear cumbersome safely glasses and be required to stand the entire time you are working. Some cleanroom shift last up to 12 hours and the temperature and humidity may also be set to a specific level depending on what the cleanroom is designed for. All these conditions should be factored in if you are thinking about working in a cleanroom.
• Are You Qualified: Different jobs inside a cleanroom will require you to perform different duties. However, some jobs may also require you to be qualified in a certain way. This will usually be in the way of education or special training, but you need to find out what the requirements are for any cleanroom job before you decide if it is right for you or not.
• Are You Organized: If you are not an organized person, then a cleanroom job is not likely the job you will want to go after. To work successfully in a cleanroom you have to be extremely organized. So, if you are the type of person who drives others crazy with your organizational skills, then you will more than likely be able to really excel inside a cleanroom.

Just as with any other type of job in, a job in a cleanroom is not suitable for everyone. Only those who can show lots of patience, good organizations skills, and of course the right qualifications need apply. If you think you have what it takes to work in a cleanroom then you only need to apply yourself and get out there and start looking for the ideal cleanroom job that you feel will be right for you.

Maybe you can’t afford to buy a multi-million dollar cleanroom and have it at your immediate disposal, but you can effectively and rather easily make your own clean room. All you need is a spare bedroom, some supplies, and a little bit of labor.

Bad Air Out

The first step in creating your own cleanroom is getting all the bad air out of the room you will be converting. To start this process, you will want to take down the ceiling fan if there is one in the room. Ceiling fans are a magnet for dust and this will kill your cleanroom. Replace the fan with CFL lighting.

Next you will want to seal off the air conditioning vent to the room. This can be done by taking off the air vent and then affixing a piece of Plexiglas to the open space. Use weatherproofing to be sure all the air flow is sealed off.

Be sure that you search the entire room for any air that will come in. If you find leaks then you will need to seal them up. Weather stripping is a great alternative for this.

You will want to be sure that you do have one source of airflow that can enter the room, just in case you plan on spending many hours in your cleanroom. This air will of course be filtered using a HEPA filter later on.

Prep the Room

A good idea before you let the good air in the room is to next prep the soon to be cleanroom. This process can be started by removing all the carpet from the room and replacing it with commercial grade tile. This will help keep the room as contaminant free as possible and allow for easier movement by you while in the cleanroom.

You will next want to use think plastic sheeting and line all the walls with it. Closets can be a big producer of contaminants so be sure to take off the closet doors and adequately seal them off with the plastic sheeting.

You will also want to address the door. You can build a special frame that will house two larger air conditioning filters side by side or stacked that will replace your actual door to the room. Be sure this frame can be moved easily to allow you to enter and exit when you need to and be sure it gets properly sealed with each use.

Good Air In

The last step in your clean room conversion is getting good air in. This can be done by setting up a window-fan in the window to take out all the bad air while running a HEPA-Air Filter at the same time. Once you have done this for a good amount of time you are then ready to seal everything off and begin use of your makeshift cleanroom.

Keep in mind that your cleanroom may need to be at a certain temperature while in use. If so, you can use window air conditioning units or space heaters, but always make sure that anything you do use is properly filtered using a HEPA filter.

Buy cleanroom mats now.

Many environments require an area to be free from bacterial and particulate contaminants. This can be a difficult assignment for anyone because people pick up debris on their shoes as they walk. Yet certain places must be kept free of these particulates and bacteria. The solution involves a product called clean room sticky mats.

What are Sticky Mats?

Sticky mats are compressed layers of polyethylene film. They come in packages 1/8 of an inch thick with up to 30 sheets in a packet, and they are available in a variety of colors and sizes. Sticky mats are covered in an adhesive that collects dirt and debris from shoes as they come into contact with a walker’s feet. When the top sheet becomes filled with too much dirt, you can simply pull the tab at one corner and discard the old sheet for the clean new sheet underneath. Installation is simple. There is an adhesive double sided strip on the bottom of the packet. Once you remove the protective covering, you place the pad on the area you want to protect and it is ready for use.

Uses for Sticky Mats

Sticky mats were developed for use in clean rooms that require sterile environments free from debris and bacteria. The adhesive covering the mat works well to remove dirt but it also is treated to inhibit the growth of bacteria. What industries require sticky mats?

In the manufacture of electronics, the process requires a sterile environment. Employees who work in these rooms typically wear hazard suits over their clothing and shoes. However, these steps do not eliminate the dirt picked up on the feet of the sterile shoe coverings. Sticky mats easily solve this problem by removing the dirt and debris from the feet with the adhesive covering.

Laboratories also require clean environments. It is vital to prevent contamination of samples to be tested. The equipment used must also be kept free of debris. While it may seem unlikely that dirt brought in on a foot could cause problems, it can happen because some dust particles are easily disbursed into the air upon motion. Sticky mats help solve this problem by preventing the dirt, dust, and debris from getting into the lab and into the air.

A very obvious place that must be kept debris and germ free is the operating room. Medical personnel always cover their shoes and clothing with surgical scrubs. The antimicrobial nature of sticky mats prevents germs from entering the surgical suite and exposing patients to the danger of contaminated tools and air.

One industry that benefits from sticky mats is not obvious when first considered. Construction companies have a lot of saw dust and other types of debris. Workers carry the debris out of the area on their boots and home. Clean room mats can help clean a worker’s boots before he leaves the area.

Clean room sticky mats have many industrial uses. Homeowners can benefit by using them as well for people that are prone to allergies. The mat simply becomes the welcome mat. Care must be used to ensure the floor will not be damaged by the adhesive.

Every house on your street probably has a door mat, but how many of those door mats are sticky door mats? Sticky door mats are exactly like regular door mats except that they are, well, sticky on the top. That’s right moms; never again will you have to yell, ‘Wipe your feet!’

Sticky mats come in different sizes and shapes and are great for a multitude of reasons, here are just a few:

• Children: Kids will be kids. This means that they will come in from playing outside and have all sorts of dirt and grime all over the bottoms of their shoes. Nine out of ten kids will neglect to actually wipe their feet on the door mat and then that dirt and grime is all over your tile, or even worse, carpet floor. Then the kids usually take off their shoes and just let them plunk onto the ground so the rest of the dirt is then deposited onto the floor. Well say goodbye to that scenario as with sticky door mats the dirt and grime are automatically stuck onto the mat. As long as the child doesn’t leapfrog the sticky door mat you are good to go.

• Pets: You love your pets, but you hate the muddy mess they seem to always track into the house. Try placing a sticky door mat by the back door and your four legged friends will have all that nasty mud and dirt taken off their paws leaving your house in a much nicer state of being.

• Less cleaning: A lot of homes these days have all-tile flooring. If you have your kids and pets constantly tracking in dirt and mud, you are constantly sweeping and mopping, what a headache. Because sticky door mats will trap so much of the mess that is normally deposited on your floor, you will discover that you will have to clean far less then before, well at least the floors anyway.

• Carpets stay fresher: Homes that do have wall to wall carpeting can look dingy and drab in a matter of months with all the foot traffic that goes on, especially if you have children and pets. Just as with the tile floors, because the sticky door mats trap most of the grime, that means less of it is deposited into the carpet. As a result, your carpets will stay fresher and look newer for a much longer period of time.

The days of the old ‘Welcome’ mat at the front door may be coming to an end. With the advent of the sticky door mat you will not only be able to keep your house cleaner, but you will be able to keep your wits about you as you are not subject to cleaning on a daily basis. Think of the sticky door mat as the all-new welcome mat, because to the one who cleans the house, there is no more of a welcome sight than that of all the dirt and grime trapped on the sticky door mat instead of on the floors.

Almost everyone has been told by their mothers to wipe their feet before coming inside. By that same token, almost everyone has forgotten to do so and left a trail of dirt and mess as they walked through the house. If you want to keep a truly clean home, wiping your feet on the doormat before entering is a big help.

However, we all know that doormats don’t get the bottom of your shoes completely clean. How do we know this? The floors need mopping and the carpet needs vacuuming all too soon, even in a house where feet are wiped upon each entry.

If you want to know that your floors are clean enough to eat off of, you need a tacky mat. Tacky mats are not your average door mat. These high tech mats actually remove all dirt and debris from your shoes and some are even equipped to sanitize your shoes.

As you can imagine, tacky mats were not invented for the obsessive compulsive home owner. Tacky mats are most often used in business, labs, and clean rooms in which the area needs to be kept completely clean and sanitary. Tacky mats keep those entering the area from carrying germs, dirt, and debris into the room along with their shoes.

But just how do these wonder mats work their magic? How Tacky mats work has remained a mystery for many, but it’s actually quite simple. In fact, the name ‘tacky mat’ is a big clue as to how tacky mats work to eliminate shoe bottom filth.

Also known as sticky mats, tacky mats are comprised of layer upon layer of adhesive film. The highly powerful adhesive on the film effectively removes dirt, grime, and even grease from the bottoms of shoes, bare feet, wheels, and even animal paws. The adhesive in tacky mats is not your average sticker glue. You might say that it’s adhesive on steroids!

Many tacky mat manufacturers also include anti-microbial germicide that also kills germs. Not only are floors free of dirt and debris, but you can feel confident that your floors and rooms are sanitary and safe.
Best of all, when your tacky mat is full of dirt and debris, a fresh layer of adhesive is just a few minutes away. Simply peel away the top layer to reveal a fresh mat of industrial strength adhesive. Many tacky mats have as many as thirty layers to ensure you never run out of cleanliness. You never have to wash, clean or maintain your tacky mat.

Tacky mats are even used in hospitals to ensure the highest levels of sanitation and cleanliness. When used in the home, tacky mats help you keep a fresh and sanitary home without additional cleaning time on your part.

For home owners and business owners that want to work smarter and not harder, but still want to maintain a clean and sanitary space, tacky mats are a very valuable tool. You’ll love knowing that your tacky mat is working on your behalf to keep your home and your business clean.
